William Leahy passed away on January 8th, 2009. Son of the late William and Adeline Leahy; brother of the late Patricia Fitzgerald. He left behind brother-in-law Bill Fitzgerald Sr., nephews Bill Jr. and Marty; nieces Lynn Leinartac, Karen Johnson, and Patricia Bourke. William was a member of the Naval Armed Forces and an alumni of the University of Chicago. He served as a longtime professor of English at Harold Washington College, and taught at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. William traveled the world and made every opportunity of sabbaticals to his favorite county of Ireland.
