William J. ‘Bill’ Muehlenbruch, 67, of Des Plaines, Illinois, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026. Dearly beloved husband of Michelle; loving father to Dana (Brian) Gardner, Amy (Matt) Gitzke and the late Daniel; proud and devoted grandfather to Lucy, Bryce and Gabby; cherished brother to Susan Muehlenbruch, Jerry Muehlenbruch, Rosemarie Thornton, Loreda Sturgeon and the late Curtis Muehlenbruch. Bill is also survived by several sisters- and brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Bill was the beloved son of the late Otto F. and the late Rebecca J. Muehlenbruch; he was preceded in death by his first wife, Debbie Muehlenbruch, mother of his children, and his beloved parents-in-law.

Bill loved fishing and spending time at the lake, enjoyed tap dancing and watching the Three Stooges and Svengoolie. He was a big fan of the Chicago Bears and the Cubs, but most off all treasured time spent with his family and friends.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to so many, Bill will be remembered for his whimsical sense of humor, his infectious laugh and the joy he brought into any room he walked – or tapped – into.
