William R. Baldauf "Bill" Passed away at age 90, he was a proud U.S. Navy WWII Veteran and sole electrician aboard sub-chaser, SC982, in the South Pacific. He enlisted at age 17 after graduating from Forman High School. He was the beloved and cherished husband of 61 years to Irene, nee Romanowski; dear father of Steven and Kenneth (Shani); loving grandfather of Corrie, Dena, Tyler Doherty, Hannah Rose and the late Benjamin; great-grandfather of Maple Anderson; Bill was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Rose, nee Freese and his siblings Henry, George (Agnes), Carl (Dolores) and Marguerite; dear brother-in-law to Anthony Bencivenga; fond uncle, cousin and friend to many. Bill was best known for his outgoing personality and sense of humor which led him into a successful career in industrial sales after attending Loyola University. He was a Past President of the Northbrook Lions Club, and current member of the Northbrook American Legion; plus an election judge and volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Family and Friends to meet Saturday, January 30, at St. John Brebeuf Church, 8307 N. Harlem Ave., Niles to celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Inurnment to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
