Victor D. Topel, age 81, was born December 8, 1939 in Chicago to the late Walter and Carrie Topel.  He was the proud father, grandfather and great grandfather of many.  Victor grew up in Our Lady of Grace Parish.  At 18 years old, he joined the Army and spent most of his enlistment in France, where he met our mother.  After their marriage and his honorable discharge, they came back to Chicago and started a family.  Dad became a union carpenter, working on buildings, like the John Hancock Building in the downtown area.  He built studios and multiple other structures over the years, including a gazebo in our backyard.  He taught his trade to his sons as well.  Dad loved plants - he once stuck a stick in the ground and it became a huge tree! God took dad Home on October 11, 2021.  May he rest in peace.

Family and friends may visit on Monday, October 18th at Kolbus-John V. May Funeral Home, 6857 W. Higgins Ave., Chicago from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Interment Ridgewood Memorial Park.  For info, 773-774-3232.
