Robert G. Collins, age 68. Proud Army Veteran and retired CPD detective of 38 years. Son of the late Robert and Catherine; beloved husband of 45 years to Mary Pat (nee Frett); loving dad of Katie (Jim) Jacob, Peggy (Paul) Nielsen, Bob (Cindy) and Danny (Claire); cherished grandpa of Michael, Colin, Kirsten, Caitlyn, Emily and Catherine; dear brother of Patrick (Sharon), Norine, Michael (Peggy), and Edward; fond son-in-law of Gloria and the late Dr. William Frett. Will be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Devoted parishioner of St. Monica Church. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Chicago Police Memorial Foundation
