Richard J. Gonsiorek Sr., 75, passed away at home on April 12, 2022. He was the cherished husband of Annamae; loving father of Marie (Chris) Ratajczyk and Richard (Laura) Gonsiorek Jr.; adored grandpere of Ella, Penelope and Kellan Ratajczyk, and Mary Frances, Damien and Annette Gonsiorek; devoted brother of James (Sue) Gonsiorek and John (Nancy) Gonsiorek; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

"Rich" enjoyed researching and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, gardening with his beloved grandchildren, exploring the world and spending time with family through travel, and was a proud Vietnam War Veteran. He was a fourth degree member and former Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Karol Wojtyla Council 14008 and Christopher Columbus Assembly 2349. Married in 1972 at St. Gall Catholic Church in Chicago, Rich and Annamae would have celebrated their 50 th wedding anniversary on April 30 th .

A visitation will be held Monday, April 18, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Kolbus – John V. May Funeral Home, 6857 W. Higgins Ave., Chicago, IL. A wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m. and the rosary will be prayed at 8:00 p.m.

Funeral prayers Tuesday, April 19, 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Monica Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
