Nancy Jo Harrison, age 48 of Freeport, IL, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at home. She was born October 11, 1965 in Chicago, IL; the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Nasca) Harrison. After graduating high school, Nancy received her Bachelor's Degree from DePaul University in Chicago. She had served in the United States Army.

Nancy worked in the Chicago area for many years as a bookkeeper. She later moved to Apple Canyon Lake, IL. She attended St. Thomas Catholic Church in Freeport. She enjoyed cooking, reading, visiting, and traveling. Nancy loved her family and her two dogs, Joey & Cecilia.

She is survived by her husband, Philip Ventura of Freeport; father, Joseph Harrison III of Apple Canyon Lake; sister, JoDee Harrison of Apple Canyon Lake; brother, Joseph (Danielle) Harrison IV of Rolling Meadows, IL; nieces, Madelynn Harrison and Kailey Jo Boelk; and nephew, Joseph Harrison V.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Josephine and infant son, David Joseph.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 11 from 3:00 to 9:00 PM at Kolbus-John V. May Funeral Home, 6857 W. Higgins Rd, Chicago, IL. The funeral service will be Wednesday, March 12 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Apple River, IL. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Apple River.
