Obituary

Marcy Lynn Dieker, age 73, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026. She is survived by her loving husband, Mark Dieker; her sister-in-law, Amber Jergeson, and brother-in-law, John Jergeson; her devoted son, Richard (Katie) Dieker; and her beloved grandchildren Michael Ford, Alyssa Ford, Benjamin Ford, Max Vaca, Brayden Dieker, Camden Dieker, and her soon-to-arrive granddaughter (baby girl) Dieker. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Mia Ford.

Marcy was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristen Alpern; her parents, Jack and Virginia Berger; and her birth father, Lewis Saxe. She is also lovingly remembered by her fun-loving pets, Gunner, Obi, and Henry, who brought her constant companionship and joy.

Marcy was truly the anchor of her family. Her love was unconditional, her heart endlessly giving, and her smile had a way of lighting up every room she entered. Above all else, she treasured watching her children and grandchildren grow. She spent countless hours at ice rinks and on long drives across the country, proudly supporting her son Richard and grandson Benjamin as they played hockey—moments she cherished deeply.

She was immensely proud of all her grandchildren: Michael, for the devoted father and man he became; Alyssa, for her academic achievements and professional accomplishments; Benjamin, for always being there for her, even when she didn’t ask; and Max, for keeping her on her toes while showing such a kind and caring heart. Later in life, Marcy found special joy in her youngest grandchildren, Brayden and Camden, as well as her great-granddaughter Mia, whose laughter and playful spirit brought her endless happiness. Whenever she felt down, a FaceTime call with them—watching them act goofy or hearing about their day—was all it took to lift her spirits.

Marcy’s love and inner light fostered lifelong friendships—from childhood friends, to those she met at the ice rink, to coworkers throughout her career. She had a rare gift of making people feel seen, valued, and loved. She touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She left a mark on every person she encountered throughout her life.

Marcy’s legacy of love, strength, and warmth will live on through her children and grandchildren. Though she may be gone, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
