Lorna Palmer Chapuis, loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on July 15, 2025 at the age of 96.

Born to Alan and Therese Palmer on May 24, 1929 in Chicago. A graduate of Loyola University in 1955, she had a fulfilling career as a teacher, including 19-years at St. Hilary in Chicago.  Matriarch, family historian, and organizer of reunions, Lorna enjoyed saying, "Family is forever."   Loved being part of the St. Eugene Parish and Oriole Park community for 60+ years, and the friendships she enjoyed over the last 8 years at Resurrection Retirement Village. Skilled at games and puzzles, collector of cats and a lifelong fan of the Chicago White Sox.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35-years, Rene.  Beloved mother of Martin, the late Eugene, Eduard (Anne) and Michelle (Mike). Cherished grandmother to Evan, Danielle, Kiera, Regina, Abigail and Dominic.  Proud great grandmother to Phoenyx, James, Maddilyn, Lillianna and Kaia. Devoted sister of the late Donald, the late Laird (the late June) and the late Bruce (Fabrienne).

Visitation, Friday, July 25, 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Funeral Prayers, Saturday, July 26, 9:15 a.m., Kolbus-John V. May Funeral Home, 6857 W. Higgins Ave. Chicago. Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m., St. Eugene Church, 7958 W. Foster Ave.Chicago, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
