IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lawrence J.
Bzdon
March 17, 1941 – March 15, 2023
Lawrence J. Bzdon "Larry", 81, beloved husband of 39 years of Joan Bzdon nee Sykstus; devoted brother of Sr. Marcianne Bzdon, SSND; doting pet dad of Buddy the Rottweiler; loving uncle of Ron (Patty), John (Moira), and Bill (Chris); cherished great-uncle and cousin; and caring friend of many.
Larry was a proud US Army Veteran and a Chicago Fire Department Lt. for 24 years. He was an outdoor adventurer and a lover of all thing's nature. You probably saw him fishing off a boat or at Navy Pier when the perch came in every season. He would often say "A bad day of fishing was better than a good day at work". When not fishing, Larry could be found on the golf course with his lifelong army, firefighter buddies, and nephews, opting to carry his golf bag like a suitcase. On weekends, he would watch televised golf and told Joan it was "for the scenery".
Larry's fondness of animals brought him into the world of obedience competition and conformation with a legacy of Rottweilers. He even was a handler at the Westminster Dog Show with his very first Rottweiler, Argus. Lawrence enjoyed cooking, starting every day with a crossword puzzle, and reading. He was a dedicated husband and friend who will be missed by many.
Private memorial service will be held in the future.
