Joseph William Niemiec, 85, lifelong resident of Chicago, passed away at home, on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Loving brother to his sisters Laura (Jack) Gray, Mickey (the late Fred) Wirsing; fond uncle to Lisa, Eric, Rochelle (Mario), Shawn (Rachel), Bill (Andrea) and Tom (Kathy);  proud great-uncle to Chase (Lindsey), Dylan, Abigail, Ariel, Ayla, Ally, Anthony, Adonis, Sarah, Danny, Chloe and Ryan; great great-uncle to Caimen.

He is preceded in death by his parents William and Verna, his first wife of 55 years Adeline (new Barner) Niemiec, second wife of 11 years, Marie Pospiech.

Joe was a dedicated Chicago Bears fan, having passed just after they won their first game of the regular season. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, including his stepson, RJ.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Montrose Baptist Church, 4411 N. Melvina Ave., Chicago, IL 60630. Inurnment at Union Ridge Cemetery in Chicago, IL  will take place at a later date.
