Fr. John C. Hergenrother, Born March 28, 1940; Ordained April 26, 1966

The Reverend John C. Hergenrother, a retired priest of the Archdiocese of Chicago, died the evening of July 8, 2019 at the age of 79.

Father Hergenrother was Pastor Emeritus of St. Louise de Marillac Church in La Grange Park. His devoted pastoral service included Parish, Archdiocesan and National administrative roles. He assisted the Archbishop as Chancellor, and Judge of the Metropolitan Marriage Tribunal. In recent years, while continuing to serve as Judge in the Tribunal, he offered Mass at Villa Desiderata Retreat House on Pistakee Lake.

Beloved son, of the late Isabelle and John C. Hergenrother Sr; He is survived by his loving family and cherished friends.

Lying in State, Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial , 11 a.m., at St. Louise de Marillac Church 1125 Harrison Ave., La Grange Park, IL 60526. Interment to follow the Liturgy at Mt. Olivet Cemetery 2755 W. 111th Street in Chicago.  In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Louise de Marillac Church would be appreciated.
