Gertrude E. Coakley, 94, of Chicago, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September, 13, 2024, she now joins her husband, Raymond, in eternal rest. Beloved mother to Timothy, Terrence (Carol), Matthew (Kristen), Monica (Donald); caring grandmother to Hillary (Justin), Rebecca (Joseph), Mary (Tommy), Katy; proud great grandmother of Adam. Preceded in death by her parents, Alcide and Ann Beaudoin and her brother Daniel. Gertrude earned her bachelor's degree from Rosary College, now known as Dominican University, then went on to become a teacher, later embraced the role as mother and homemaker, where her life of service to family and others continued throughout her life.
Raymond fell in love with Gertrude on the day he met her, and told people that day, that she was the one, and intended to marry her. She was attending the class he was teaching at Loyola University, titled Sweetness & Light. They were wed on October 19, 1957.

Higgins Ave. Chicago, IL 60656, to Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m., St. Robert Bellarmine, 4646 N. Austin Ave. Chicago, IL 60630. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
