Gary J. Eckardt passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, at the age of 80, surrounded by family. Born on August 18, 1945.
Gary proudly served his country as a United States Air Force veteran. Following his service, he spent many years building a successful career in construction.
He was the beloved husband of Marlene Eckardt, who preceded him in death in 2015.
Gary was a devoted father to Jeanine, Gary, Kelly, Cheri, and Natalie. He was an incredibly proud grandfather to Ashley, John, Sheldon, Hannah, Jamie, Samantha, Danielle, and Ian; a beloved great-grandfather to many. Few things brought him more joy than watching his grandchildren participate in sports and activities—he was their biggest supporter, always proud.
Outside of family, Gary found joy in staying active and connected to the veteran community. He was involved with the Veterans Golden Games and was an accomplished bowler, a pastime he greatly enjoyed and excelled at.
Gary will be remembered for his kind heart, and enduring love for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
