Frank was born March 20, 1919 in Chicago, Ill. His parents, Carmela and Battista Lizzo, had immigrated to the United States from Italy. Frank was ten when the Great Depression started. He worked selling newspapers to help his family survive. He graduated from Englewood H.S. and then received his Associates Degree from Wright Junior College. When World War II started Frank reported for duty with the Army Air Corps. After basic training, Frank reported to Madison Wisconsin for training as a tower operator. It was there that he proposed and married Mabel, the love of his life. Frank was transferred to the Pacific, where he served for two years directing Army and Navy pilots.
After the war Frank returned to Chicago and got a job with Zenith radio. He worked there for the next 30 years. Frank worked in the retirement benefits department at Zenith, a job he really enjoyed because he felt he was helping people with their financial needs.

Frank would play with his children when he came home from work and take the entire family on camping trips in the summer. His family was always his first priority.
