Frances Showalter, nee Durning, age 95, passed away July 20, 2018.  Beloved wife of the late Richard; loving mother of the late Nancy O'Quinn; cherished grandmother of Carol (Michael) Tedesco; cherished aunt and friend of many.  Frances was a world traveler having visited more countries than she missed.  She was a passionate lover of dogs and owned a dog for most of her life.  She loved receiving visits from Carol's three dogs when she could no longer care for one of her own.  Frances also enjoyed eating and cooking and was known for her amazing meals and scrumptious baked goods. Visitation Thursday, July 26, 2018, from 4 to 8 P.M. with a funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Kolbus- May Funeral Home, 6857 W. Higgins Ave., Chicago. Friends and family will meet at the office of Ridgewood Cemetery, 9900 N. Milwaukee Ave., Des Plaines on Friday, July 27 ^th at 10 a.m. for a cryptside committal service.
