Florence Zielinski Obituary
Florence Zielinski, 90, Chicago, IL, died peacefully at home on, September 21,
2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 19, 1926 to the late Stanley and Mary (Lange) Chropkowski in Chicago, IL.
Florence married Bob Zielinski on August 24, 1946 and together they raised 5 children over 70 years.
Florence took great pride in being a mother and felt it was her greatest accomplishment. After she raised her five children, she went on to help raise many of her grandchildren and even her great-grandchildren. She and Bob enjoyed many years of square, round and ballroom dancing with their friends – traveling locally and nationally as accomplished dancers.
Florence is survived by, three sons, a daughter, and daughter-in-law: Tom (Paula) Zielinski of Green Bay, WI; Randy (JoAnne) Zielinski of Chicago, IL; Rick Zielinski (Gerri) of Orland Park, IL; Terri Enriquez of Bensenville, IL; and Mary Zielinski of St. Louis, MO. She had 18 grandchildren: Cheryl, Jill, Brad (Angie), and Michael Zielinski, Dave Schommer (Katie), Tara Deprey (Chris), Julie Molloy, Joan Brantley (Silas), Jan York (John), Amy (Tim Yoder), Ryan (Jennifer), and Craig Zielinski; Greg Glaeser (Lysa), Erik Zielinski (Meredith), Phillip Glaeser (Kelly), Jason Zielinski, Nick and Brandi Enriquez; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; son, Bob; daughter-in-law, Jan; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Pat; brother, Al; sister, Lorraine; brother-in-law, Don; and granddaughter, Anna.
She is further survived by her brother, Gene (Sharon); sister-in-law, Rita; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at St Monica Catholic Church, 5136 N Nottingham Ave, Chicago, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2016. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. at the church. Following the mass there will be a procession to St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery.
A memorial fund is established in Florence's name to benefit Rainbow Hospice or the charity of your choice.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, their staff, friends, and neighbors who shared in her health journey in recent years. We also wish to thank the in-home health caretakers who assisted with Florence's care, especially Janina.
