Eugene "Gene" D. Schnarr, 82 of Chicago and Phoenix, passed peacefully with family by his side on August 15, 2024. Loving brother to Fred "Kenny" and his wife Mary; cherished uncle to Kristin (Joseph) Corbett, Daniel (Anna) Schnarr; caring great uncle to Justin, Griffin, Braden, Eleanor, Emma, Vince; beloved friend of Kevin Kenerson. Gene is preceded in death by his parents Fred Schnarr Jr. and Amelia nee Wiegel and beloved friend Chester Wiktorski.

Gene was a devoted Chicago Public School Teacher for over 30 years and was loved and respected by his students and colleagues alike. He was a very active life-long member at Eden United Church of Christ in Chicago and also more recently at Shepherd of The Hills United Church of Christ in Phoenix. He enjoyed dinners with family and friends, singing in the choir, traveling, and exploring his family's genealogy. Gene will be deeply missed by his large group of extended family and friends as he was the cornerstone for them all.

Memorial Visitation, Saturday, August 31, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m., Eden United Church of Christ, 5051 W Gunnison St. Chicago, IL 60630, inurnment to be held privately at Eden Memorial Park, Schiller Park.

Celebration of Life Service, Saturday, November 16 at 10:00 a.m., Shepherd of the Hills United Church of Christ, 5524 E. Lafayette Blvd, Phoenix, AZ 85018.
