Eugene F. Jankowski, "Gene", WWII Army Veteran, age 97 of Chicago; beloved husband of the late Patricia (nee Ziocchi) and Mary (nee Salach); loving dad of Jan (Steve) Murphy, Jean (Mike) Motta and Julie (Jim) Conroy; adoring and fun grandpa of Candace, Lauren, Sharon, Jennifer, Bill, Caitlin and Kevin; great-grandpa of Austin, Connor, Jack, Ryan, Charlie, Luke, Leyla, Ariana, Kate, Brielle and Conor. Son of the late Andrew and Martha Jankowski (Nee Dombrowski). Gene is the last survivor of his 12 late siblings and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Every time he was together with family, there was nothing but laughter and love.

Gene lived a faith-filled life always performing acts of service especially active in St. Monica Parish and Resurrection High School. He was proud of his military service in WWII and was an upholsterer by trade for CTA.

He was always the guy in charge of the CTA picnics and just loved to have fun. Gene took pride in his garden and shared his love and respect for growing beautiful flowers with his daughters. When he retired, he and Pat loved to travel and enjoyed many trips with family and friends.

Lying-in-State Monday, January 31, 2022 from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M. Mass at St. Hubert Church 729 Grand Canyon St. Hoffman Estates, Il 60169. Interment Maryhill Cemetery.
