Elaine S. Karbowski, Beloved wife of the late Dennis Karbowski CFD. Loving daughter of the late James (Martha) Kosmopolis Sr. Devoted mother of Daniel (the late) Marcia Karbowski, June (Anthony) Rossetti, Janice (Greg Gettes) Minch, Anthony (Laura) Karbowski, Jennifer (the late Phil) Holmgren, and James (Nicole) Karbowski. Cherished grandmother to Tony (Lindsay), Theresa (Blake), Robert, Elisa (Chris), Michelle (Bob), August (Jessica), Christine, Dennis (Christina), Kayla, and Christian. Great Grandmother to Hailey June, Vincent, Nicholas, and Brooklyn Rose. Loving sister to Christina Ryzner and the late James Kosmopolis Jr. (Sophie), Dorothy (Marvin) Aderman, Vesley Powers, Patricia (Douglas) Todd, Andrea Bannon, and Christos Kosmopolis. Sister-in-law of Vickie Kosmopolis. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Elaine grew up in Mckinley Park. She worked as a waitress in her younger days at her father's restaurant where she met her future husband. After she married, she moved to Norwood Park. There she worked at Immaculate Conception School as a lunch monitor for almost 40 years where she met many friends. She was a member of the church choir and also bowled in the parish league for years. She loved her family and watching the Chicago White Sox.

Visitation Wednesday, 4-9 p.m. Funeral Prayers, Thursday at Kolbus-John V. May Funeral Home, 6857 W. Higgins Ave., Chicago to Immaculate Conception Church, for Mass of the Christian Burial, 10:00 a.m. Interment Saint Adalbert Cemetery.
