Edward E. Kwasigroch, Jr. died Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the age of 77. Born and raised in Chicago, he was the son of the late Edward, Sr. and Marjorie, nee Larsen. Following service in the armed forces during the Korean War, he returned to Chicago and worked first as a science teacher, then later as a principal for the Chicago Board of Education. The greatest joy in his life was his marriage of 52 years to Bertha, nee Kalas, and being a father to Cheryl, Carrie (Eric) Roskamp, Chad (Cindy), Carleen Merges, Claudette (Jody) Grose, and the late Gerard. Cherished grandfather of Karl, Kyle, Sean, Brian, and Claudette Roskamp, Brett, Nicole, and Stephen Kwasigroch, Ryan and Rhiannon Merges, and Bennett Grose. He had a passion for sports, board games, bridge, chess, bingo and dogs. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 4 to 9 p.m. at Kolbus-John V. May Funeral Home, 6857 W. Higgins Ave., Chicago. Family and friend are to meet Thursday at St. Rosalie Church, 4401 N. Oak Park Ave, Harwood Heights for a Mass at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
