Edward Joseph Higgins, age 66, of Chicago, passed away on July 22, 2026. Edward was born on September 21, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward Joseph Higgins, Sr. and Rosemary (Schlosberg) Higgins. A lifelong Chicagoan, Edward dedicated his life to serving both his family and his community with compassion, courage and unwavering commitment.

Edward proudly served with the Chicago Fire Department since 1999, having been a paramedic since 1979. Throughout his career, he answered countless calls for help, providing comfort and lifesaving care to those in need.

He is lovingly survived by his sons, Timothy (Tabitha), Jeremy (Amanda), Randy (Denise) and Ryan (Kristina); his cherished grandchildren, Roman and Quentin; along with extended family members, dear friends and former colleagues whose lives were enriched by his friendship and generosity.

Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Donna, and by his parents Edward and Rosemary.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Hedges Cemetery, 1270 S. Business Route 5, Camdenton, MO.
