Obituary

Chester J. Zebrowski, 86, of Chicago died peacefully, surrounded by family members, on December 9, 2007. Beloved husband of the late Lorraine nee Rasimowicz; loving father of Mark, Paula, David, Karen, Beth, Carol and Jeffrey; dear grandfather of Matthew, Sarah, Emily, Daniel, Amy, Ginnie, Emma, Leonard, William, Nicole, Michelle and Aileen. Chester was born in Chicago on July 31, 1921. He graduated from Lane Technical High School and went on to attend the University of Chicago. During WWII, he served on the USAT Spindle Eye as a member of the US Army Signal Corps. After the war, he returned to his studies at the University of Chicago where he received his B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry and his M.A. in Education. Chester worked for the Chicago Board of Education for 38 years, first as a teacher, then as assistant director of audio-visual education, and for over 20 years as principal of the Jonathon Burr Elementary School. He will be dearly missed and remembered always by his family. Funeral, Wednesday, 9:15 AM from Kolbus-John V. May Funeral Home, 6857 W. Higgins Ave, Chicago to Our Lady of Victory Church for Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 AM. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery. Visitation, Tuesday 4:00 to 9:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donation to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of IL, 651 W. Washington Blvd, Ste. 400, Chicago, IL 60661 would be appreciated.
