Arthur J. Ziomek, beloved Husband to Catherine; loving father of Donna (David) Detrie, David, Darlene Neel and Debra Ziomek (Ryan Sobieski); fond grandfather of Dennis Detrie (Sarah Morack), Diana (Brian) Floral, Dawn Detrie (Dieter Suurvarik), Darrell (Leah) Neel, Ashley (Brooks) Huneycutt, Christopher, Jonathan, Danielle Ward (Tony Marcinkus) and Lionell (Genevieve) Chiero; great-grandfather of Ariella, Liam, Aiden, Reid, Jason, Owen, Maya, Mallory, Natalie, Lauren, Reid, Aaron and Simon; preceded in death by his siblings  Stanley, Jerome and Patricia and their spouses.

Arthur Graduated from Schurz High School in 1944. After high school h e served in the Army, WWII Combat Vet (Okinawa, Leyte) with the 96 th Infantry (Deadeyes) and was a Bronze Star Recipient.

He worked for the U.S. Post Office for 35 years as a Mail Carrier and was also a Chicago Softball Umpire for 20 years. He was an avid Chicago Sports Fan and especially loved 'Da Bears' and the Chicago Cubs, but also bled the blue and gold of "The Fighting Irish". Arthur was a collector of 70 years of Notre Dame and Chicago Bears media memorabilia, and was a dedicated stamp collector.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. to time of prayers at Kolbus - May Funeral Home 6857 W. Higgins Ave., Chicago. Prayers will be at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Monica for Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Adalbert.
