On December 25, 2019, heaven's choirs gained another angel, Alice Marie Mescall, as she laid in her son's arms and peacefully took her last breath with loved ones at her side. Alice, age 86, is a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born in County Leitrim, Ireland in June of 1933. She followed her older brother to Chicago where she worked, raised her son and lived happily until her passing. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Mescall and his wife, Kristen; her three grandchildren, Connor, Clare and Hunter along with her brother, Patrick McGovern and her sisters, Kathleen "May" Fellows and Margaret McGovern. She is a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews and their families. She is joining her parents, Francis and Margaret McGovern along with her brother, Francis "Buddy" McGovern and her sister, Susan McGovern in eternal rest. She is loved and missed greatly. We will celebrate her life on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 with a funeral mass at St. Mary of the Woods Church at 6959 N. Hiawatha, Chicago, IL at 10:00 AM.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 9:00 PM on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Kolbus-May Funeral Home, 6857 W. Higgins Avenue, Chicago, IL 60656.
