Adelaide Charlotte Schultz, nee Maegdlin, was born in the Jefferson Park area of Chicago and lived there for the first 64 years of her life. She married Clarence Robert Schultz in June of 1941 and worked for the Milwaukee Railroad as a supervisor in the AFE Bureau from July, 1945 until January of 1978. After her retirement, she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Northeastern University. In 1983, the two retirees moved to San Diego, CA where they lived for 17 years. Adelaide traveled the world with her husband and pursued her interest in genealogy, authoring five extensive volumes of family history. In 2000, her Alzheimer's diagnosis made it impossible to live without assistance, and the couple moved to the Presbyterian Home in Evanston. In April of 2006, after the death of her husband of 65 years, Adelaide moved to California to live with her daughter in Fortuna. She basked in the attention of her family and warmed the hearts of everyone who helped care for her. Loving mother of Craig (Jeannie) and Curt (Allison), Adriane (Allen Lesser) St. Clare, and Corinne Murphy-Hines (Samuel Hines); cherished grandmother of Amber Fidler, Michelle McIntyre, Erin and Daniel Murphy and Cleighton, Annika, Spencer, Ryne and Rachel Schultz; great-grandmother of Amy, Kristen and Erika Fidler, and Isabella Totten Schwartz.
